How I create my backing tracks for live performance

Ok, you might be like me, trying to find the right backing tracks..I’m a guitar player/singer, right now without a band.

I started to use karaoke version, which is very good, but could not find all the songs that i wanted..

So i found out a really good way to create my backing tracks, these are the programs that i use:

1. X-minus pro pro to remove the leadsong/vocals and more

2. Youtube, to capture the songs

3. Stagetraxx 3 to store the music and to organize all songs.

4. Ultimate Guitar to capture the lyrics

Please notice, i am just using my iPad for everything, no computer.

So, let’s start by finding a song on Youtube, i selected still got the blues with Gary Moore:

Then, select share and copy:

When you have copied the link from Youtube, it’s time to open the AI program to remove the leadsong and the guitar if you play the guitar solos yourself, please notice, you have to create an account and pay a small subscription fee to make it possible to utilize all functions from this wonderful program.

Open this link: https://uvronline.app/ai?hp

Then paste the link from Youtube and press the arrow. When the lead vocal is removed, download the backing track called ”other”.

Download the app called Stagetraxx 3 from appstore:

https://apps.apple.com/se/app/stage-traxx-3/id1448493366

Create your account and pay a small subscription fee.

Now it’s time to upload the song to Stagetraxx, open the app and press the + sign

Select ”from local files or cloud”, mark the file and then press open

B

The file will now be downloaded to Stagetraxx.

So now you have your first song in the library, next step, press i on the right side of the song in order to edit the title, add lyrics, perhaps you need to pitch the song from Am to Gm, you will have a lot of options.

As you can see below, i edited the title and added the artist, now it’s time to add the lyrics

Download the Ultimate Guitar app from appstore

https://apps.apple.com/se/app/ultimate-guitar-chords-tabs/id357828853?ppid=a0cc227a-7b36-4c2b-a683-4c9fb8e69b01

Search for your song and open the chords/lyrics, the press the pencil

Mark all the text and press copy

Go back to Stagetraxx and copy the lyrics into the editor, then press save

press ”done” on the next screen, now everything is ready.

Select the song from the playlist and press not just the green arrow, press on the waweform in order to get both the song and the lyrics;

You can adjust the ”scroll speed” if it’s too slow or fast, easy to do even when you are playing/singing.

If you would like to remove the guitar as well, just open X-pro again, select the song from your laptop/ipad (not from youtube), the version that you previously downloaded, and select ”remove guitar”. Then you can dowload a new version to and upload it to Stagetraxx.

Happy playing🎸🎸🤓
